About the role
As a SEO/SEM Associate, you will be responsible for three portions of work; SEO/SEM/GEO technical support, insights support and other team Support. This role requires a solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition. In addition, you should have proven experience in SEO/SEM, website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics), SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMrush, SERanking) and working knowledges of HTML, CSS, JavaScript development and constraints and UX/UI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
SEO/SEM/GEO technical support (60%)
- Develop and execute SEO/SEM strategies and overall approach for ETA, CITA and ETJ platforms, with clear and measurable KPIs
- Produce keyword analysis for SEO/SEM campaigns
- Create SEO content briefs and provide relevant feedback for content writers where necessary
- Support SEO editing, indexing, link-building strategies
- Perform competitor analysis to identify content gaps and areas for improvement in website design
- Monitor and report on search trends and SEO performance and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
- Identify technical SEO issues and recommend solutions to improve website structure and performance.
- Conduct SEO and website A/B testing to enhance website's visibility and performance.
- Keep up to date on SEO/GEO, AI search, marketing and other relevant industry trends and provide insightful recommendations
- Identify relevant opportunities and implement solutions for the betterment of the sites including, but not limited to, performing Semantic HTML Optimization, updating outdated contents, optimising webpages for desktop/mobile/tablet devices
- Provide relevant feedback to content, design and structure the websites in a User + SEO/GEO-friendly way
- Provide quality feedback on CRO
Insights support (30%)
- Social listening report support when required
- Performing social media landscape analysis
- Adapt keyword research and domain competitor analysis to support digital marketing strategies
- Provide insight reports on website and marketing performance
- Assist with other insights support where applicable
Team Support (10%)
- Act as the Cuttlefish’s main SEO/SEM contact point with desks, ensuring desk expectations are managed, desks have a clear sense of how much effort and resource it would take, and campaigns are driven forward
- Provide SEO training and support to the network when required i.e. train key partners on SEO, help with hiring other SEOs and writers
- Contribute to funder proposals with ideas for future SEO/SEM resourcing and campaigns
- Liaison with the GSCC digital teams to ensure proper implementation of SEO best practices
- Support GSCC sites and key partner sites with ongoing SEO
Preferred experience
- 3+ years experience as an SEO specialist, preferably in an agency or campaigning environment
- Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
- Proven experience in an SEO/SEM specialist role
- In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g, Google Analytics)
- In-depth knowledge of SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMrush, SERanking)
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
- Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI)
- Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM, including AI Search
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects in line with scope, budget, and timeline
- Ability to coordinate and deliver and work with other team members
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a remote team
- Understanding of digital marketing and campaigning, preferably in using digital for social change and advocacy campaigns
- Strong organizational skills
- Written and verbal communication skills in English
- Sound understanding of global climate and energy-related issues
